Gift Certificates
Gift Certificates can now be purchased online.
- Gift certificates can currently only be bought in store in person, or over the phone with a credit card.
- Gift certificates purchased over the phone will be mailed via standard post service, or held at the store if requested.
- Gift certificates can be purchased for any amount, are valid at both locations, and do not expire.
- Physical gift certificates must be presented for validation at time of purchase. We do not hold an electronic account of balances on gift certificates.
Guarantee/Return Policy
Any and all returns for exchanges or refunds must have a receipt. We will accept returns on all of our plants that were purchased at regular price, with a receipt, and within 3 days of purchase, to the same location purchase was made at.
Items must be returned to the same location they were purchased at.
For Returns:
- With your original receipt and remainder of the plant, we can replace the plant with an item of equal value when available. If the plant is not in stock we will issue store credit.
- Store credit will be issued for items returned to the locations they were originally purchased from. We can not give cash back, only store credit.
- All returns are subject to manager/owner approval.
For Guarantees:
- Our 6-month guarantee applies to Trees & Shrubs ONLY.
- This guarantee applies only to items purchased at regular price. Discounted items do not have a guarantee.
- Our 6-month guarantee does NOT apply to Bedding plants, Perennials, Tropical Fruits, Tropical Shrubs, Citrus, Avocado, Houseplants, Vegetables, or Herbs.
Once a customer has purchased a plant, it is up to the customer to water correctly and protect the plants from acts of nature we cannot control.

Bonus Bucks
How do I use my bonus bucks?
- Bonus Bucks are given out during our spring season up to June 30th.
- $1 in Bonus Bucks is awarded per every $10 purchase. (Purchase must amount to no less than $10 for the award).
- Bonus Bucks are then redeemed during August 1st-31st of that current year.
- The maximum amount of Bonus Bucks that can be used on an item can be no greater than 50%, half of the total purchase price not including the tax.
- One dollar of Bonus Bucks is equivalent to $1.00 toward the purchase of merchandise, for up to one half (50%) of the total purchase price before sales tax. EX: $12.49 item (price before sales tax). You pay 6 Bonus Bucks coupons + $6.49 cash + sales tax.
- Bonus Bucks cannot be used on already discounted or sale items.
- Bonus Bucks cannot be used on gift certificate purchases.
- Bonus Bucks cannot be used in conjunctions with SAWS coupons.
- Bonus Bucks are only accepted August 1 – August 31st of the current year. No Bonus Bucks from past years may be redeemed.

City Programs
City of San Antonio Waste Management Programs
If you find yourself needing the San Antonio Solid Waste Management brush service outside of the times of their free brush pick up, you can just pay a service fee of only 25 cents per pound and drop off your brush yourself. The price goes up a tiny bit after you’ve surpassed 20 pounds of brush, but it’s still really cheap! It’s a great option for when you just need to fill in some walkways, or maybe to fill in a playground. Remember to bring your most recent CPS energy bill and a photo ID to take advantage of these services.
Not only does the city offer brush collection and free landfill days, but San Antonio Solid Waste Management also offers mulch pick up at their recycling centers for a minimal fee. You can load up a pickup truck full finely ground mulch for only 3 cents per pound up to 20 pounds. Or….if you are just looking for some coarsely ground mulch, it is offered for free, year round! Christmas tree mulch is offered for free for a limited time after January 1st. What a deal! Just remember to bring a tarp with you to cover your mulch so you don’t get fined according to the Tarp Law-City Ordinance #72272.

CPS Energy Tree Rebates for San Antonio
How does saving money and saving energy all while planting a some gorgeous trees for your home or business sound to you? CPS Energy offers you a great opportunity to do all of this with their Green Shade Tree Rebate program. Planting trees can offer shade to your properties to assist in saving energy that is expelled through the use of air conditioners when trying to cool down homes and businesses. And of course, just as importantly, trees are amazing for the environment. CPS offers a $50 rebate per tree planted when you apply and follow their guidelines in their Green Shade Tree Rebate program. Rainbow Gardens is proud to be a supporter of this great city program.
CPS GREEN SHADE REBATE PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:
-Trees must be purchased between the dates of October 1st 2018 – April 30 2019.
-Trees must be a variety from the qualifying list of trees specified by CPS Energy. Qualifying tree list from CPS Energy. You should be able to find most, if not all, of these qualifying trees at either of our Rainbow Gardens locations in San Antonio, TX.
-Trees must be 5 gallon or larger in size.
-A lifetime limit of 5 rebates is offered per address.
-Program is awarded on a first come, first serve basis until the funds for the program have been depleted.
-Application for program must be submitted no later than June 30th, 2019 and must include a photocopy of the receipt from time of purchase of the tree, AND a photocopy of your most recent CPS energy bill.

CPS Green Shade Rebate Program Maintenance Guidelines
-In order to be in compliance of the Green Shade Rebate program, you will also need to follow their specified guidelines for taking care of your tree, before and after it has been planted. Please see Green Shade Program Guidelines for the information specified by CPS for this city program.

SAWS WaterSaver Rewards Program
Rainbow Gardens carries all your SAWS approved water-saving plants to make your landscape both beautiful and water-efficient. We have a terrific selection of native plants that naturally conserve water. We also carry mulch, compost, birdbaths, and other landscaping supplies that can be applied towards your SAWS WaterSaver Rewards coupons.
To earn these rewards, you could attend SAWS approved classes and events like: Home Composting Workshops, Nature Preserve Walks, Rain Harvesting Workshops, Gardening for Wildlife, Landscape Design School classes, etc… There are a lot of events to choose from, and there are usually multiple classes and events each month. Be sure to check out the link to the SAWS event calendar below, which posts events that are WaterSaver Rewards eligible.
SAWS WaterSaver coupon amounts come in $25, $30, $50, $70. You could earn up to a total of $150! What a savings. And the whole time you are earning, you are also learning valuable information.

Extra things to know that tend to get overlooked:
*The list of SAWS approved plants on their website is pretty extensive, BUT…there are only a select amount that are approved for their coupons each spring and fall. We will post the flyers here on this page for each season with the exact plants you can choose from.
*Your coupon is designed to cover a portion of the cost of this program. It will NOT cover all of the cost.
*You MUST choose 15 plants, minimum. How far your coupon goes depends on the sizes of the plants you choose. EX: If you choose 15 plants in one gallon containers, your coupon will cover more of the cost than if you choose 15 plants in 3-5 gallon containers or larger.
*You MUST have your phone with you when you come to redeem your coupon. It is the only way SAWS can verify your enrollment in the program.
*Please remember that this is a SAWS program. We are approved vendors for plants, but we CANNOT make adjustments to coupons or exceptions to their program.
*Please read everything in the print when it comes to the rules of SAWS coupon programs. There are expiration dates, stipulations, and qualifications that must be met. We just want you to be well-informed so that you have a pleasant experience and get the most out of this great program that you can.
