Ode to Bonus Bucks
The time is upon us, we are overcome with joy. Like children receiving a brand new toy.
We’ve waited so long, we’ve been counting the days; and now we are grateful in so many ways.
On the 1st day of August, when we open our doors, the stampeding of feet will pound over our floors.
We will welcome you in, with a wink and smile; and you’ll realize the wait has been well worth the while.
For it’s Bonus Bucks time, as we’ve promised would come; where you total your buy, but might pay only half of your sum.
You can shop with abandon, there’s just no way to lose. Your bonus bucks apply to whatever you choose.
What do you need? Some mulch for your plants? Some granules to get rid of some pesky little ants?
Your plants have a fungus? Ask us what that’s all about. We’re sure to have a fungicide to knock the thing out!
Prepare for the fall, buy veggies for your plot. If you’ve saved up your bonus bucks, you’re sure to save a lot.
Stock up on your necessities, the stuff you hate to buy. Pesticides, fertilizer, seed for your rye.
Had your eye on a pot with a beautiful glaze? Now’s the time to get it, it’s Bonus Bucks days!
Replenish your tools, get rid of the old. Buy some new clogs with colors vibrant and bold.
Need a gift for another but would like to save a dime? Use bonus bucks to purchase a lovely wind chime.
Choose what you’d like, there’s no magic trick. You’ll save with your bonus bucks, whatever you pick.
So start the hunt now, look up and look down. Whatever you do, those bucks must be found.
You’ll have the whole month, but the month will go fast; and after this August, your bonus bucks don’t last.
You don’t want to miss out, that would make us sad too; so dig up your bucks and you know what to do.
Come to the store of your choice, with your bucks in your hand. The world is your oyster, you’ve got the lay of the land.
You can walk away smiling after getting a deal; and knowing our appreciation for you is very real.
Then the following March we’ll begin all again, collect the bonus bucks, save them, and you will win in the end.
